Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you register, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, city, state, and account type (Private Seller or Car Dealership). When you create a listing, we collect the vehicle details and photos you provide. When you report a listing, we collect the reason you give us.

By entering your phone number and completing registration, you give your prior express consent to receive a one-time SMS verification code to confirm the number belongs to you. This code is sent once when you register and, if needed, again if you re-verify your number. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and consent to receive this verification text is required to create listings, since verified phone numbers are how buyers reach sellers on this site. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

2. How we use it

We use this information to operate the marketplace: creating and securing your account, displaying your listings to other visitors, verifying your email address and phone number, reviewing reported listings, and enforcing our Terms of Service.

Listings are automatically removed 60 days after they are posted. You can always re-post a listing after it expires.

3. What's shown publicly

Your listing details and photos, your first name (not your full name), your account type (Private Seller or Car Dealership), and your phone number (once verified) are shown publicly on your listings, so buyers can contact you directly. Each listing also shows the date it was posted and, if applicable, the date it was last edited. Your full name (including surname), email address, and exact account activity are not shown publicly — your full name is visible only to site administrators, for moderation and support purposes.

4. Where it's stored and who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we only share it with the service providers that help us run the site, each acting on our behalf and only for the purposes below:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider, hosted in the United States. Nearly all of your account and listing data lives here.
• Twilio — delivers the SMS verification code to your phone. Twilio processes your phone number only to send that message.
• Resend — delivers account emails (verification codes, password resets) on our behalf.
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Google Analytics — see Section 5 below.

We use industry-standard access controls so that only you can edit your own account and listings, and only site administrators can review reports or manage accounts. We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (which pages are viewed, which device or browser is used, and which state or city visitors browse from). This helps us improve the site and doesn't identify you personally. We don't share this data with Google for advertising purposes.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. Deleted or expired listings are kept on file (not shown publicly) so we can enforce the re-listing rule described in our Terms of Service.

Closing your account happens through a request that an administrator reviews and approves, rather than instantly, so we can prevent abuse of the process (for example, someone deleting an account to dodge a report). Once a deletion request is approved, your live account, listings, and photos are permanently removed and your email and phone number become free to register again. Before removal, we keep a limited internal record (your name, email, phone number, city, state, account type, and the date you joined and left) in a secure, admin-only archive. This record is not publicly visible, is used only for legal, security, and fraud-prevention purposes, and is not restored to an active account.

7. Keeping your phone number current

If you stop using, lose, sell, or otherwise give up the phone number on your account, you must notify us at support@wheeltodeal.com so we can remove or update it. This prevents whoever gets that number next from being contacted about your account or your listings, or from being mistaken for you.

8. Children's privacy

wheeltodeal.com is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete that account and the associated information. If you believe a minor has registered an account, please contact us at support@wheeltodeal.com.

9. Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete your own listings at any time from your profile. To close your account, use the account deletion request on your profile page (see Section 6 for how this works), or contact us directly. To request a copy of your data, contact us using the details below.

If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and correct inaccurate information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale to opt out of.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls that restrict who can view or change account and listing data, two-factor authentication for administrator accounts, and encrypted connections between your browser and our servers. No method of storing or transmitting data is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use wheeltodeal.com after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
